Shared Paths ( Apprentice and Master) start the Hero off with a number of skills already upgraded at the start of a run, while unique Paths can drastically alter a Hero's play style by providing myriad Tokens and/or boosts for stats and/or skills, but at the same time applying significant penalties (in most cases) to balance out the benefits. Hero Paths can provide a number of benefits for a Hero.
